So it passed. The Cap and Trade Fiasco of a Bill passed the House. Barely. My congressman actually did the right thing and voted no, one of only 44 Democrats to do so. So the next step is the Senate.
I am going to write both my Senators and I urge everyone reading this to do the same. Threaten that if they vote "yes" for this horrible piece of legislation that you will do everything in your power to see that they get replaced. This bill will devastate our already weakened economy. Haven't our politicians destroyed our nation's wealth for long enough??
IT IS TIME FOR THIS TO STOP.
The only reason Obama and the Democrats want this to pass is because it GIVES THEM MORE MONEY TO SPEND. Is America really this blind??
Both parties have sucked us dry for far too long. Why do we continue to allow this to happen? Stand up! Tell your Congressmen and Senators that this is NOT the America our Forefathers envisioned. Insist that they listen to the PEOPLE, not their PARTY.
It's time our elected officials did what was in OUR best interests, not what is in THEIR best interests. They spend our money with NO CONSEQUENSE in the name of helping the little guy when all they are doing is BUYING VOTES AND SOLIDIFYING THEIR POWER.
IT HAS TO STOP! STAND UP AMERICA!

Forget, please, "conservatism." It has been, operationally, de facto, Godless and therefore irrelevant. Secular conservatism will not defeat secular liberalism because to God both are two atheistic peas-in-a-pod and thus predestined to failure. As Stonewall Jackson's Chief of Staff R.L. Dabney said of such a humanistic belief more than 100 years ago:
ReplyDelete"[Secular conservatism] is a party which never conserves anything. Its history has been that it demurs to each aggression of the progressive party, and aims to save its credit by a respectable amount of growling, but always acquiesces at last in the innovation. What was the resisted novelty of yesterday is today .one of the accepted principles of conservatism; it is now conservative only in affecting to resist the next innovation, which will tomorrow be forced upon its timidity and will be succeeded by some third revolution; to be denounced and then adopted in its turn. American conservatism is merely the shadow that follows Radicalism as it moves forward towards perdition. It remains behind it, but never retards it, and always advances near its leader. This pretended salt bath utterly lost its savor: wherewith shall it be salted? Its impotency is not hard, indeed, to explain. It is worthless because it is the conservatism of expediency only, and not of sturdy principle. It intends to risk nothing serious for the sake of the truth."
Our country is collapsing because we have turned our back on God (Psalm 9:17) and refused to kiss His Son (Psalm 2).

PS – And “Mr. Worldly Wiseman” Rush Limbaugh never made a bigger ass of himself than at CPAC where he told that blasphemous “joke” about himself and God.
I'm quite confused as to where your "secular conservatism" ideas are coming from. The Founding Fathers based their principles on God. Those are the principles Conservatives love. Liberalism is where true godlessness lies.
ReplyDeleteP.S. Rush said a joke. And a funny one at that. Life isn't fun if you can't laugh a little. Try it, you might actually like it.
Higher energy prices, higher gas prices, higher produce prices. This bill is a joke and how they can keep a straight face and pat themselves on the back is pathetic. Disguised as a clean energy and environment bill it gives Obama credibility with the Europeans when he trots off to the "save the world conference" in Copenhagen in Decenber. "Hail the world's savior". Meanwhile the administration has sold out the hard working people of this nation for one more piece of legislation that adds to the cost of living. None of them have completely read this thing.
ReplyDeleteI am tired of this, "Oh well, were just going to have to see how it works out" legislation.
Call your Senators and stop this bill!
