The Death Book

There was an article in the Wall Street Journal that I think perfectly sums up the reason so many Americans are uneasy with Section 1233 in the House Health Care Bill.

The article is titled The Death Book for Veterans and discusses how the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) advocated an end-of-life planning document titled “Your Life, Your Choices”. This thing was first introduced in 1997 and later promoted as the VA’s preferred living will. The Bush Administration took a look at this document and decided to suspend its use. Obama has since reinstated it.

This document has a questionnaire on page 21 for veterans to fill out. They list a scenario, and the veteran is to choose one of the following choices if they were to find themselves in that scenario: Difficult But Acceptable, Worth Living But Just Barely, Not Worth Living, Can’t Answer Now.

Here are some of the scenarios they list…

- I can no longer walk but get around in a wheelchair.
- I can no longer get outside—I spend all day at home.
- I can no longer contribute to my family's well being.
- I can no longer control my bladder.
- I can no longer control my bowels.
- I live in a nursing home.
- I can no longer think clearly-I am confused all the time.
- I can no longer recognize family/friends
- I can no longer talk and be understood by others.
- My situation causes severe emotional burden for my family (such as feeling worried or stressed all the time).
- I am a severe financial burden on my family.
- I cannot seem to “shake the blues.”
- Other (write in):

They are then told to keep the following questions in mind:

If you checked "worth living, but just barely" for more than one factor, would a combination of these factors make your life "not worth living?" If so, which factors?

If you checked "not worth living," does this mean that you would rather die than be kept alive?

If you checked "can't answer now," what information or people do you need to help you decide?

Now, do you see them asking “If you checked ‘not worth living’, what can be done to make you feel better”? No. The entire aim of this document is to help steer as many people as possible to ending their life for the sole purpose of saving money.

In July of this year, a VA directive instructed its primary care physicians to bring up advance care planning with all VA patients and to refer them to this document. Not just the older patients or the disabled ones… ALL patients. 24 million veterans.

So a 20 year old kid returning home from Iraq is going to have to answer questions like this? Who the hell WOULD be able to “shake the blues” after coming back from that? This is absolutely immoral. Which is why the Bush Administration stopped its use. Obama brought it back. Interesting.

This is exactly what we can expect for all of us if the Democrats get the Healthcare Insurance overhaul that they want.

Is this what WE want?

Keep it up

Okay, we’ve proven something. The outrage we have shown with our town hall meetings and our tea parties is working. We’ve proven that when we stay silent and let the liberals control the debate, we lose. When we let them recruit other people into their groups while we stand by, steadfastly holding to what we believe is true in our hearts yet staying silent, we lose. When we let the moderates in the Republican Party tell us to “stay civil” and “rise above” we allow the most radically liberal President ever into the White House.

For years, I’ve seen liberal whackos get attention for saying the most outrageous things. Michael Moore, Bill Maher, Ganine Garofalo, Bruce Springsteen, Richard Dreyfus, Matt Damon, Barbara Streisand, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon... need I go on? These people have spouted stupid, untrue things and they get publicity and are considered well informed.

But what happens when REAL AMERICANS stand up for freedom and liberty and for the government to stay out of our business? They get criticized and told to be more civil. Even from members of the Republican Party! We’re told that if we act too mean we’ll force the independents that hear us to go sprinting off to the Democrats.

Well guess what? The liberals have been as mean-spirited as possible with no fear of people running off to our side. What sense does it make to continue to stay silent as our rights and liberties are slowly taken away from us?

The brain-dead zombie followers of Obama are never going to wake up unless we do everything we can to get their attention.

So keep protesting, keep shouting, keep chanting.

It’s working.

Dirty Tricks

See what happens when the liberals lose control of the debate?

These commercials are so gay!

I just love it when liberals tell us what we can and can't buy, what we can and can't watch, and what we can and can't do, don't you?

Well now the liberals, who always show such restraint when criticizing Conservatives, are telling us what we can't say.

Check these commercials out. They're so gay.

Hey Hillary and Wanda, why don't you stop eavesdropping on other people's conversations and then butting in with your opinions? When you act like a pompous ass, do you realize what you do? Knock it off!

Maybe I should start an ad campaign. You think?

Obama in Mom Jeans

I laughed hysterically at this.

Less of them

Anyone with an ounce of integrity knows you don’t raise taxes in a recession. Yet Obama is doing that with both Obamacare and Cap and Trade. Everyone knows you don’t put more pressure on small business during a recession. Yet the Democrats are doing that by raising minimum wage.

Everyone knows the way you stimulate an economy is by freeing up American ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit. You lower taxes; you create incentive to hire new workers; you let the people decide what to do with their money, not the government. It has been proven that these things stimulate economies.

Yet Obama and the Democrats are doing exactly the opposite of what should be done.

Why?

If more people are out of work, who do they look to for assistance?

If more people are out of work, thus losing their HEALTH CARE, who do they look to for assistance?

People being out of work seem to be the key to enacting everything Obama wants to accomplish.

More control over our lives. Because THEY know better than WE do. And apparently there is a large portion of our population that believes that very thing because they vote for those pompous politicians over and over again.

And it’s not just Democrats. There have been plenty of infuriating politicians with an (R) after their name. Ah-nold… Bloomberg… McCain… All think that THEY know better.

Is that what we really want? To have the government tell us what’s best for us? Has anyone else noticed that government is full of people who cheat on their spouses, cheat on their taxes, try to sell Senate seats, give themselves raises… do I really need to go on?

They know nothing. It’s time we had LESS of them and MORE of freedom again.

Maureen Dowd is my HERO

I love Maureen Dowd. I'm sure there are Conservatives out there mad as hell about her recent editorial in the New York Times titled White Man's Last Stand, but I think it's absolutely wonderful. It admits everything we've been saying about Obama and Sotomayor all along.

I love this part:

President Obama wants Sotomayor, naturally, to bring a fresh perspective to the court. It was a disgrace that W. appointed two white men to a court stocked with white men. And Sotomayor made it clear that she provides some spicy seasoning to a bench when she said in a speech: “I simply do not know exactly what the difference will be in my judging, but I accept there will be some based on gender and my Latina heritage.”

The judge’s full retreat from the notion that a different life experience is valuable was more than necessary and somewhat disappointing. But, as any clever job applicant knows, you must obscure as well as reveal, so she sidestepped the dreaded empathy questions — even though that’s why the president wants her.

“We apply law to facts,” she told Kyl. “We don’t apply feelings to facts.”

She is admitting here that Obama WANTS a person on the court who will be empathetic to minorities. Not only that, but she's also saying that Sotomayor is up there LYING about who she is and what she actually believes! She says that we all know Sotomayor's not going to ONLY apply the LAW... that's what mean white men do! Who cares if that's what's IN THE CONSTITUTION.

See, liberals look at the Constitution as it was originally written and they see flaws that need to be fixed.

We all know why Sotomayer is hiding who she really is and how she really thinks. It's because the majority of Americans don't agree with her and therefore she would never be confirmed. If the majority of Americans really felt that empathy was needed in the highest court in the land rather than just applying the law, don't you think Obama and Sotomayor would be waving that around like a banner? They aren't. She's trying to sound like John Roberts, not Sonia Sotomayor.

So I say "Thank you" Ms. Dowd, you liberal lunatic, you. At least you have more guts than Obama and Sotomayor. You actually admit to the insanity you believe in.

The silent majority

I’m like you. I see the news every day and wonder if the country has finally gone mad. I hear people around me talking and I wonder why they are so blind to the things going on around them. I see the 24 hour coverage on the death of a pedophile and wonder why we’re not covering more of the deaths of our soldiers. I know in my heart the destructive nature of liberalism, but fail to get others to see beyond the pretty words and wonderful promises and understand that everything has consequences.

I know that liberalism has been permeating our culture through Hollywood and the national media. I know that it has also been infecting the hearts and minds of our youth in public schools and Ivy League universities. I know that it seems that the country is populated with those that watch MTV, Comedy Central, and Saturday Night Live for their news.

And like you, many times when I see these things, hear these things, and feel these things, I lose hope.

Like you, I don’t want to lose hope. I want to feel like our country still has those core values that made it so great in the past. I want some kind of proof that we really are good, decent people deep inside that will rise up when needed and stand for what is right.

Well allow me to try to make the case that, yes, we are still a nation of patriots with strong values in the fabric of our souls.

We all remember the overwhelming sense of patriotism after September 11th, 2001. We all remember the flags flying and the common agreement throughout the nation that the United States of America was the greatest country on the planet and nothing could ever change that. That was our true core. That was the silent majority rising up to be heard. Because it was necessary.

After that, the louder voices of the left began to get everyone’s attention again. The media continued their assault on Conservative values. The silent majority was lulled back to sleep.

The silent majority woke again on June 5th, 2004. The death of the greatest Conservative voice of our generation woke the silent majority out of its slumber and an enormous outpouring of affection was a result. People lined the streets to show their respect for Ronald Reagan. Flags flew at half mast throughout the nation. The silent majority knew that a great visionary and leader had passed and would be sorely missed. They wanted to let the world know that they would not allow his vision to die. The silent majority mourned, and once again, went back to sleep.

We have been seeing the silent majority turning fitfully in its siesta, as of late. We see signs that it is once again beginning to awaken. We see the high turnout at the tea parties. We notice the higher ratings of Conservative radio and television in comparison to their liberal counterparts. We see books written by Conservatives being ranked number one in sales by the New York Times. We see the sleeping giant beginning to stir.

Obama and the liberals should fear the awakening, but naturally their conceit won’t allow it. They feel that they control the majority. They feel that the voices rising up are too few. The think the fringe left that follows them so blindly IS the majority of the country. But the TRUE silent majority is being pushed too far and it will awaken. It will not allow the Obamas of the world to destroy the very soul of our country.

The silent majority will awaken. Because it is necessary.

I pity those that stand in its way.

Saracuda

I was just as surprised as the next person at the news of Sarah Palin resigning as Governor of Alaska. The more I think about it, however, I think she might be making a very shrewd move. Being in Alaska, rather than one of the 48 continental states, the only news being filtered to the rest of the country about her was from the national main stream media. We all know how fair and balanced they are about her. By leaving Alaska, she puts herself in a position to put her message and face out there for the whole country to see.

I’ll admit it, Sarah Palin was the only reason I could justify voting for John McCain. She has the core Conservative values we need right now. Not only that, but she has the ability to really annoy the heck out of Liberals and Moderates alike that I really love.

Take for example this guy I used to follow on twitter. He was very anti-Obama, but also very, very anti-Palin. I just found it interesting that Sarah Palin irritated him so much that he joined in with the Democratic Party which he so supposedly despised and trashed her at every opportunity. It seems to me that if you are not only siding with the enemy but also reducing yourself to their childish, name-calling behavior, you might want to take a good look at the man in the mirror. (My one and only tribute to Michael Jackson. Sha-mon)

If Palin irritates the left this much, she must be on the right track. Remember how much they hated Reagan? Now hopefully she’ll get her Conservative message out there more and we’ll finally have someone to rally around. No one else is getting off their butts to do it.

Go Saracuda!

This may just be the beginning

It's hard to stay upbeat nowadays. The news seems to get worse and worse. And NONE of it makes any sense.

Someone explain to me why Obama is standing with Chavez, Ortega and Castro in calling for the ousted Honduran President Mel Zelaya to be reinstated? This guy tried to ignore his country's Constitution and Supreme Court and just continue his administration, term limits be damned. The army came in and PEACEFULLY had him removed. It sounds like to me that this country was upholding their Constitution. I wonder why Obama, Chavez, Castro, and Ortega would all have a problem with this?

Obama seems to have a special relationship with dictators. Remember when the bad guys hated us? Why is he so chummy with them?

Obama has been making some very interesting moves. Placing all these czars all over the place that only answer to him. Using Acorn throughout the country, giving them money and letting them run the census. It's almost like he's putting the foundation in place for... something.

Oh yeah... here's a bill currently in the Subcommittee on the Constitution, Civil Rights, and Civil Liberties that I found interesting...

So let's say they're able to repeal the 22nd Amendment... We'd still be able to vote him out, right? I'm not so sure. We saw the way elections have been fixed in Iraq under Saddam, in Iran, and in Cuba. Hell, we just saw it happen here today IN MINNESOTA. Makes you understand Acorn's purpose a little more, doesn't it?

Just something to think about.

The problem is, thinking about it makes me want to put my head in the oven. So what d'ya say we laugh about it all instead? Here's one of my favorite Steven Crowder posts. Let's all keep our spirits up because this may just be the beginning, boys and girls!

This is how they work!!

I happened to stumble across this today on YouTube and it made my blood boil so badly I knew I had to post it. It's old, from two years ago, but it shows the arrogance of the Democrats and Jack Murtha in particular. You'll know the part that made me angry at about the :38 mark.

This came right after over 100 Republicans in the house walked out because of the Democrats flaunting the rules. This is an article written by U.S. Representative Ginny Brown-Waite from Florida called "WHY I WALKED OFF THE HOUSE FLOOR LAST NIGHT":

Washington D.C. — U.S. Representative Ginny Brown-Waite (FL-05) today released the following statement about unprecedented Democrat actions on the floor of the House last night. The Majority's power-grab shut out of legislative debate and decision making Members of both parties who believe we should not give taxpayer funded benefits to illegal immigrants. Rep. Brown-Waite joined virtually all the Republicans in boycotting the final vote on the Agriculture Appropriations bill in protest of Tammany Hall style vote fixing.

"This body is named the people's House for good reason. We were elected to represent the people, not partisan political leaders here in Washington, D.C. Any time the majority, at the whim of unnamed political leaders, ignores the will of the body and arbitrarily overturns a vote of the House, it deserves to have Members walk out of the chamber.

"The House vote last night was clear; no money will be spent on illegal immigrants. Rather than accept the will of the House, Democrat leadership broke more than 200 years of precedent and allowed Members to change votes after the measure had passed by 215 to 213, including at least 14 Democrats who voted to do the right thing, purely to defeat the clear will of a majority of this body. This action is worthy of Fidel Castro or Joseph Stalin, not the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

"Along with my Republican colleagues, I walked out of the chamber to protest the outrageous behavior of the Democrat majority. Their desire to give benefits to illegal immigrants at the expense of law-abiding Americans is so strong that the Pelosi Power Police corrupted the vote process. I guess if things don't go their way, the new Democrat majority just throws the Constitution out the window and makes the rules up as they go along."

The vote in question was a motion to recommit that would have prohibited funds in the agricultural appropriations bill going to illegal immigrants. At the time when the vote had been closed by the Speaker Pro Tempore, the Republican motion had the votes needed to pass. After the vote was closed, the Democrat majority allowed solely Democrat Members to change their votes and alter the outcome of the vote. These unprecedented controlled vote switches showed the Party in control's true colors.

This pattern of abusive behavior was also exhibited earlier this week when Democrat leaders passed legislation to cut nearly $200 billion in Medicare funds and that included language allowing illegal immigrants to receive taxpayer funded health care benefits.

"Democrats led the fight to cut $194 billion in Medicare funds for our nation's seniors this week, while at the same time giving children of illegal immigrants health care benefits. Talk about being out of touch with mainstream America. When the Democrat led Congress hands out benefits to illegal immigrants at the expense of our most vulnerable population, our senior citizens, that is a sad commentary indeed on the state of affairs in Washington, D.C."

Here is video of the incident if you'd like to see it. It's pretty long and most of it is a lot of yelling. From the research I did, the chant you hear at one point is from the Republicans to the Democrats: "SHAME".

This is how these people are. They don't care one whit about the rules, only in getting their agenda pushed through. This was TWO YEARS AGO!! Now they have the Executive Branch to go along with the Legislative. Of course they're going to ram as much down our throats as they possibly can! THIS HAS BEEN THEIR TRACK RECORD FOR A LONG, LONG TIME!!

IT HAS TO STOP!

So it passed. The Cap and Trade Fiasco of a Bill passed the House. Barely. My congressman actually did the right thing and voted no, one of only 44 Democrats to do so. So the next step is the Senate.

I am going to write both my Senators and I urge everyone reading this to do the same. Threaten that if they vote "yes" for this horrible piece of legislation that you will do everything in your power to see that they get replaced. This bill will devastate our already weakened economy. Haven't our politicians destroyed our nation's wealth for long enough??

IT IS TIME FOR THIS TO STOP.

The only reason Obama and the Democrats want this to pass is because it GIVES THEM MORE MONEY TO SPEND. Is America really this blind??

Both parties have sucked us dry for far too long. Why do we continue to allow this to happen? Stand up! Tell your Congressmen and Senators that this is NOT the America our Forefathers envisioned. Insist that they listen to the PEOPLE, not their PARTY.

It's time our elected officials did what was in OUR best interests, not what is in THEIR best interests. They spend our money with NO CONSEQUENSE in the name of helping the little guy when all they are doing is BUYING VOTES AND SOLIDIFYING THEIR POWER.

IT HAS TO STOP! STAND UP AMERICA!

Exposing Cap and Trade

Okay… Tomorrow the U.S. House of Inmates is going to vote on the “Energy Bill”, otherwise known as Cap and Trade. The idea of this bill is to place a limit on companies as to how much “greenhouse gas” they can emit. Companies are going to be required to have an “emissions permit” for every ton of Carbon Dioxide they spew into the air. The limit with go down year after year until the ultimate goal is achieved.
Since it will be easier for some companies to reduce their emissions than it will be for others, the lesser polluting companies will be able to sell their extra permits to the bigger polluters.

Now… let’s follow logic, shall we? We can all admit that this is a tax. The problem is that we’re being led to believe that this is a tax on polluting companies. Really? Does that follow logic?

The U.S. Government is going to create a new commodity in the form of these “emissions permits” and then it is going to mandate that companies buy these commodities. The costs for these permits are going to immediately transfer to the consumer. Your prices will go up, folks.

And who, realistically, will be hurt most by the raising of prices. Well logically, a family that makes less money has to spend a larger percentage of their hard earned dollars on heat and gas to get to work than a family that has a much larger income. This makes Cap and Trade a regressive tax by definition because it hurts the poor and lower middle class the most. I thought Democrats were against regressive taxes? Interesting, isn’t it?

President Obama pledged in his campaign the 95% of Americans would see NO TAX INCREASE. It sounds like the 5% he was claiming to be the only ones he’d be taxing are going to be the ones LEAST HURT BY THIS TAX INCREASE and the 95% he mentioned is going to get HOSED.

But everyone is going to be hurt the same, right?

Wrong. Think about this for a second. Some states rely more on manufacturing and fossil fuels like coal than other states do. What states use the most, you ask? The States that lie in the Midwest, Southern, and Plains. What states use the least? The two coasts.

It’s interesting that the biggest liberals pushing this thing are from California and the east coast.

This is a new revenue source for the Federal Government, plain and simple. This has nothing to do with “protecting the climate”, I guarantee you. Politicians saw an opportunity to get more of our money in the name of saving the planet and they are trying to pass it as quickly as possible before we can discover how truly destructive this legislation can be.

Cap and Trade. Obama’s gift to the little guy.

Night of the Living Government

I thought this video is a great analogy of what is going on today. Andrew Klavan is an expert on what Obama is trying to do. He used to write horror movie screenplays.

MUST READ

I just have to share this. It just says all the things that I'm feeling. And a DEMOCRAT WROTE IT. Recently Glenn Beck received a letter and read it on his radio program. I'm going to post the text of the letter here and if you would like to read the transcript of Glenn Beck reading the letter himself, go here.

I'm a home grown American citizen, 53, registered Democrat all my life. Before the last presidential election I registered as a Republican because I no longer felt the Democratic Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. Now I no longer feel the Republican Party represents my views or works to pursue issues important to me. The fact is I no longer feel any political party or representative in Washington represents my views or works to pursue the issues important to me. There must be someone. Please tell me who you are. Please stand up and tell me that you are there and that you're willing to fight for our Constitution as it was written. Please stand up now. You might ask yourself what my views and issues are that I would horribly feel so disenfranchised by both major political parties. What kind of nut job am I? Will you please tell me?

Well, these are briefly my views and issues for which I seek representation:

One, illegal immigration. I want you to stop coddling illegal immigrants and secure our borders. Close the underground tunnels. Stop the violence and the trafficking in drugs and people. No amnesty, not again. Been there, done that, no resolution. P.S., I'm not a racist. This isn't to be confused with legal immigration.

Two, the TARP bill, I want it repealed and I want no further funding supplied to it. We told you no, but you did it anyway. I want the remaining unfunded 95% repealed. Freeze, repeal.

Three: Czars, I want the circumvention of our checks and balances stopped immediately. Fire the czars. No more czars. Government officials answer to the process, not to the president. Stop trampling on our Constitution and honor it.

Four, cap and trade. The debate on global warming is not over. There is more to say.

Five, universal healthcare. I will not be rushed into another expensive decision. Don't you dare try to pass this in the middle of the night and then go on break. Slow down!

Six, growing government control. I want states rights and sovereignty fully restored. I want less government in my life, not more. Shrink it down. Mind your own business. You have enough to take care of with your real obligations. Why don't you start there.

Seven, ACORN. I do not want ACORN and its affiliates in charge of our 2010 census. I want them investigated. I also do not want mandatory escrow fees contributed to them every time on every real estate deal that closes. Stop the funding to ACORN and its affiliates pending impartial audits and investigations. I do not trust them with taking the census over with our taxpayer money. I don't trust them with our taxpayer money. Face up to the allegations against them and get it resolved before taxpayers get any more involved with them. If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck, hello. Stop protecting your political buddies. You work for us, the people. Investigate.

Eight, redistribution of wealth. No, no, no. I work for my money. It is mine. I have always worked for people with more money than I have because they gave me jobs. That is the only redistribution of wealth that I will support. I never got a job from a poor person. Why do you want me to hate my employers? Why ‑‑ what do you have against shareholders making a profit?

Nine, charitable contributions. Although I never got a job from a poor person, I have helped many in need. Charity belongs in our local communities, where we know our needs best and can use our local talent and our local resources. Butt out, please. We want to do it ourselves.

Ten, corporate bailouts. Knock it off. Sink or swim like the rest of us. If there are hard times ahead, we'll be better off just getting into it and letting the strong survive. Quick and painful. Have you ever ripped off a Band‑Aid? We will pull together. Great things happen in America under great hardship. Give us the chance to innovate. We cannot disappoint you more than you have disappointed us.

Eleven, transparency and accountability. How about it? No, really, how about it? Let's have it. Let's say we give the buzzwords a rest and have some straight honest talk. Please try ‑‑ please stop manipulating and trying to appease me with clever wording. I am not the idiot you obviously take me for. Stop sneaking around and meeting in back rooms making deals with your friends. It will only be a prelude to your criminal investigation. Stop hiding things from me.

Twelve, unprecedented quick spending. Stop it now.

Take a breath. Listen to the people. Let's just slow down and get some input from some nonpoliticians on the subject. Stop making everything an emergency. Stop speed reading our bills into law. I am not an activist. I am not a community organizer. Nor am I a terrorist, a militant or a violent person. I am a parent and a grandparent. I work. I'm busy. I'm busy. I am busy, and I am tired. I thought we elected competent people to take care of the business of government so that we could work, raise our families, pay our bills, have a little recreation, complain about taxes, endure our hardships, pursue our personal goals, cut our lawn, wash our cars on the weekends and be responsible contributing members of society and teach our children to be the same all while living in the home of the free and land of the brave.

I entrusted you with upholding the Constitution. I believed in the checks and balances to keep from getting far off course. What happened? You are very far off course. Do you really think I find humor in the hiring of a speed reader to unintelligently ramble all through a bill that you signed into law without knowing what it contained? I do not. It is a mockery of the responsibility I have entrusted to you. It is a slap in the face. I am not laughing at your arrogance. Why is it that I feel as if you would not trust me to make a single decision about my own life and how I would live it but you should expect that I should trust you with the debt that you have laid on all of us and our children. We did not want the TARP bill. We said no. We would repeal it if we could. I am sure that we still cannot. There is such urgency and recklessness in all of the recent spending.

From my perspective, it seems that all of you have gone insane. I also know that I am far from alone in these feelings. Do you honestly feel that your current pursuits have merit to patriotic Americans? We want it to stop. We want to put the brakes on everything that is being rushed by us and forced upon us. We want our voice back. You have forced us to put our lives on hold to straighten out the mess that you are making. We will have to give up our vacations, our time spent with our children, any relaxation time we may have had and money we cannot afford to spend on you to bring our concerns to Washington. Our president often knows all the right buzzword is unsustainable. Well, no kidding. How many tens of thousands of dollars did the focus group cost to come up with that word? We don't want your overpriced words. Stop treating us like we're morons.

We want all of you to stop focusing on your reelection and do the job we want done, not the job you want done or the job your party wants done. You work for us and at this rate I guarantee you not for long because we are coming. We will be heard and we will be represented. You think we're so busy with our lives that we will never come for you? We are the formerly silent majority, all of us who quietly work , pay taxes, obey the law, vote, save money, keep our noses to the grindstone and we are now looking up at you. You have awakened us, the patriotic spirit so strong and so powerful that it had been sleeping too long. You have pushed us too far. Our numbers are great. They may surprise you. For every one of us who will be there, there will be hundreds more that could not come. Unlike you, we have their trust. We will represent them honestly, rest assured. They will be at the polls on voting day to usher you out of office. We have cancelled vacations. We will use our last few dollars saved. We will find the representation among us and a grassroots campaign will flourish. We didn't ask for this fight. But the gloves are coming off. We do not come in violence, but we are angry. You will represent us or you will be replaced with someone who will. There are candidates among us when hewill rise like a Phoenix from the ashes that you have made of our constitution.

Democrat, Republican, independent, libertarian. Understand this. We don't care. Political parties are meaningless to us. Patriotic Americans are willing to do right by us and our Constitution and that is all that matters to us now. We are going to fire all of you who abuse power and seek more. It is not your power. It is ours and we want it back. We entrusted you with it and you abused it. You are dishonorable. You are dishonest. As Americans we are ashamed of you. You have brought shame to us. If you are not representing the wants and needs of your constituency loudly and consistently, in spite of the objections of your party, you will be fired. Did you hear? We no longer care about your political parties. You need to be loyal to us, not to them. Because we will get you fired and they will not save you. If you do or can represent me, my issues, my views, please stand up. Make your identity known. You need to make some noise about it. Speak up. I need to know who you are. If you do not speak up, you will be herded out with the rest of the sheep and we will replace the whole damn congress if need be one by one. We are coming. Are we coming for you? Who do you represent? What do you represent? Listen. Because we are coming. We the people are coming.

Dishonesty

It’s blatant dishonesty coming from the President of the United States. He’s going out there calling for a government-run insurance option as part of his plan to remake our country’s health care system. He says having a government option is necessary to keep private insurance companies “honest and keep prices down.”

Does he really think we’re all that stupid?

Obama is going to force companies to offer health insurance to their workforce. What company with a brain is going to pay for something that they can get for free? Private insurance will disappear and everyone will have only the government to care for them.

Is that really what we want? Do we want some faceless bureaucrat hundreds of miles away that knows absolutely nothing about us deciding what treatment is economically feasible? Do we want to wait in cramped doctors’ offices for hours at a time so that we can meet with pleasant government employees such as the kind that work at the friendly Department of Motor Vehicles and the loverly post office?

For the President to go out there and claim that he wants a government-run option to create competition is just dishonest. He knows full well that would be the demise of the private option and the almighty government would be all that would be left standing.

Oh yeah, and he spent all the money. How are we going to pay for this?

Since Obama's increasing his push to socialize healthcare, I thought I'd post a previous Steven Crowder video on his opinions of socialized healthcare.

Michele Bachmann standing up and speaking out

It's good to see some Republicans out there talking like this... Too many of them are keeping silent right now, but Michele Bachmann (R-Minn) is speaking out against the government takeover of GM.

The lolly-pop and rainbow world of the liberal

I felt one of the comments I recently received deserved a detailed response, so here it is. This is in response to Octobia's comment to my post "Random Thoughts While Listening to President Obama's Speech in Egypt".

No, Octobia, nuclear weapons are not on our "wish-list", as you put it. The thing about us Conservatives is that we live in the real world. There are nuclear weapons in the real world. To think that nuclear weapons are going to just disappear is naive and childish. My point is now that the toothpaste is out of the tube, there is no way you are going to get it all back in there again.

For Obama to say things like he is seeking a world without nuclear weapons is just more flowery language that means nothing.

And by the way, Clinton thought it was a great idea to allow North Korea to have nuclear technology for power. Now North Korea is threatening nuclear war. It's that kind of naive thinking that puts the world more and more in danger. Liberals need to wake up and realize that there are actually bad guys out there. We can't "negotiate" with all of them, no matter how much you wish for it.

The Founding Fathers said one of the main duties of a Federal Government is to protect the people. You don't do that by getting rid of all our nuclear weapons and allowing only the bad guys to have them. It's the same arguement that liberals use with gun control and it doesn't hold any water and just points out how amazingly naive their outlook on the world really is.

Steven Crowder on PETA

I just have to get the word out about this guy. If you're like me and sick and tired of all of the loser liberal comedians ripping our side to shreds (David Letterman, Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams, Rosie O'Donnell, Bill Maher, Al Franken... you know the ones...), get a load of Steven Crowder. He has a channel on YouTube that you can subscribe to, but I will be posting some of my favorite videos of his here to share with all of you. He uses common sense and wicked humor to shoot down liberal insanity at every opportunity. Let me know what you think of him. Even you lefties. Hehehehe.

MSNBC Anchor gets put in her place

I love this video.

The left-wingers at MSNBC can dish it out, but they sure can't take it. Look how her "feelings get hurt".

Random Thoughts while watching President Obama’s speech in Egypt

- It’s interesting that he’s admitting his Muslim heritage. He said he came from a family that included a long line of Muslims. In the campaign it was blasphemous to say his full name “Barak Hussein Obama” because it was a supposed attempt to call him a Muslim. So when he’s at home, he’s in no way a Muslim, but when he’s speaking to millions of Muslims he’s just one of them. Actually this is not surprising to me at all, but typical Obama behavior.

- He sure does like to mention the Founding Fathers, doesn’t he? Too bad he stands for everything they fought against.

- Wow he just admitted his middle name was Hussein. He got applause. You gotta admit, the man knows how to play his audience.

- I could have sworn he just said that any world order cannot be dominated by one country or one race. World order? He doesn’t hide his true colors at all, does he?

- He said “We reject the same thing all faiths object. The killing of innocent men, women, and children.” I can only assume he mistakenly said children. We know he doesn’t reject the killing of innocent babies.

- Obama just quoted the Quran… something like “Whoever kills an innocent is as if he has killed all mankind.” The irony of this coming out of the mouth of such a strong abortion supporter is sickening.

- Well now we’re at the point where Obama starts throwing money around like he has it. The man has no shame.

- Okay my head is about to explode. He just said that Iraq was a war of “choice” and that although he believes the Iraqi people are better off without Saddam Hussein he thinks the Iraq war taught us of the need to build diplomacy and international consensus. If I recall correctly, we tried the hell out of diplomacy. Saddam Hussein thwarted all inspection attempts and violated U.N. resolution after U.N. resolution. We had many countries go into Iraq with us. It’s not like we charged in there alone like Rambo. This attempt by the liberals to rewrite what happened is disgusting.

- He just quoted Jefferson again. Good Lord.

- Now he’s saying that he’s assuring the Iraqi people that we pursue no bases or claim on their territory or resources. Iraq’s sovereignty is its own. And he’s saying it and receiving applause for it like George W. Bush didn’t say the EXACT SAME THINGS!!! He acts like this is a change in policy from what we had before. Pardon my French, but what a pompous ass.

- OMG. Now he’s apologizing for our overreacting after 9/11. Saying that he’s prohibited the use of torture. Implying that we were torturing before. WE WERE NOT TORTURING!!! How DARE he!!

- Now he’s stood in front of the Muslim world and said Guantanamo will be closed by early next year. He still doesn’t know where he’s sending the prisoners, though… it’s going to be interesting to see how he squirms his way out of THIS one…

- He’s showing his Messiah complex again. He acts like only he can bring peace to the Middle East.

- I love how he’s calling on Hamas to stop violence. I bet they're laughing at his naivety while they’re kicking puppies.

- He just motioned to his teleprompter. Did you ever notice that Obama never talks while his teleprompter is taking a drink of water? Check it out…

- Now he seeks a world in which no nation has nuclear weapons. Ah, don’t you love the little Utopian world of the liberal Democrat?

- Now he says any nation, including Iran, should be allowed to pursue nuclear power. Except us, right Obama? We need windmills and solar power.

- He said he believes in a government that is transparent and doesn’t steal from the people. REALLY??

- He said that some people advocate democracy only when they are out of power. When they are in power they are ruthless in suppressing the rights of others. He sure sounds like he’s talking about himself, doesn’t he?

- He sure has a lot of big plans. How can he pay for it all when he SPENT ALL OUR MONEY????

- At the end of his speech he walked back out to the podium for an encore ovation. He just can’t get enough of the worship, can he?

Okay. Done watching that. Time for my Pepto-Bismal.

Trying to understand those that follow the left....

Here is something I’ve never understood… Conservatism is based on the beliefs of our forefathers, correct? We believe, as they did, in small government, individuality, freedom, life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, correct? The forefathers founded this country with amazing insight into what makes a country run successfully. What came forth was a country that grew to be the world’s strongest and most powerful economy and the lone superpower on the planet.

So since Conservatism has been around since the foundation of our country and those ideas have made us the economic success that we are (were), isn’t it a little odd that an entire party’s platform has evolved to be the EXACT opposite of ours in every way, shape, and form? The Democratic Party has come to stand against EVERYTHING that made this country great. Why?

Conservatism has a proven track record of success. Liberalism has a proven track record of failure. It is a complete and undeniable fact.

Look at the country right now. California has been driven into the ground by liberals. Michigan is sinking quickly. New York is a mess. All three of those states have been driven to the brink of bankruptcy by liberals and yet their blind followers keep re-electing the same idiots over and over. When you follow a party blindly because they promise you things and then fail to look at the actual results, you are sheep.

Sadly, the majority of people out there aren’t informed enough to see what’s really happening. All they know is what the liberal whackos that run the mainstream media tell them to think. They don’t see the government taking over GM and Chrysler. They don’t see Obama throwing money at GE (very liberal company and owners of MSNBC, one of the many liberal propaganda machines) under the guise of “modernizing our medical IT infrastructure”. They don’t see the Democrats in congress pushing all of their pet projects through while calling it “stimulus”. They don’t notice that after all of the money we’ve pumped into this economy to get it started, it’s showing no signs whatsoever of recovering.

It’s going to take something very drastic to wake the American people out of their current slumber. I have no doubt, however, that something drastic WILL happen. Obama is being too reckless and irresponsible with our economy. He is meddling in the free market when he has no right and it WILL blow up in his face.

I firmly believe that 2010 is going to be a historical year. I believe we WILL win back the House AND the Senate. I think the spirit of the American People is too strong for a Socialist like Obama to extinguish. The disaster that was Jimmy Carter brought about the genius that was Ronald Reagan. I believe we are on a similar course now. The disaster of Obama will bring a new great Conservative leader to us. Of this I have NO doubt.

George Carlin using common sense about Global Warming. WARNING ADULT LANGUAGE

Racism of the left

If you read Laurie's comment, maybe you are wondering the same thing I am...

Alito said that his experiences as a white man would lead him to make better judgements than a Latina woman?

That's funny... I never heard about that... I'm pretty sure I would have too... hmmmm....

Face it... if a white man had said ANYTHING like what Sonia Sotomayor said, he would have been crucified for all of eternity.

"The talk of racism is garbage and code for the paranoia of white men who
are not longer the vast majority of the power in this world. Gasp -- only 7 of
nine will be men, only 7 or 9 will be white! What next? Votes for women? It's
the end of civilization as the right sees it -- thank God!"

Wow...argue racism with a racist rant... interesting tactic...

I don't think Conservative white men are concerned with no longer being the "vast majority of power in the world". We're concerned with fairness. Which is something the left claims to have the monopoly of yet shows the exact opposite over and over.

Racism

We have moderate Rupublicans running around saying we shouldn't use language like "racist" when referring to Sonia Sotomayor. They believe we should use a more "civil" tone. They say that if we criticize her too harshly that independant voters and hispanics will go running off to the Democrat party.

When the Democrats criticized Alberto Gonzales did it hurt the Democrats? When the Democrats cruely attacked Clarence Thomas did African Americans go running off to the Republican Party? No. They are allowed to demonize and destroy reputations all they want, but if we use a word like "racist" (even if it's TRUE), we've gone over the line. It's rediculous and idiotic and the Repubican Party needs to stop falling for this trap over and over.

Socialism on the Court

Here is an interesting piece of information about our soon-to-be Justice of SCOTUS. When Sonia Sotomayor graduated from Princeton, she had the following as her quote that appeared beside her picture in the yearbook:

“I am not a champion of lost causes, but of causes not yet won” - Norman Thomas

Who is Norman Thomas, you might ask. An excellent question, I would answer.

Norman Thomas ran for President six times. As the candidate of the Socialist Party of America. Oh yes, the Socialist Party of America.

Another interesting and very applicable quote from Norman Thomas:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt Socialism. But under the name of 'liberalism' they will adopt every fragment of the Socialist program, until one day America will be a Socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

That's the road we're on, folks.

Sonia Sotomayor

Well thank goodness we finally have a Hispanic on the Supreme Court. Obviously, that's what Obama was looking for. He gets all the praise and love from the mainstream media for bringing diversity to the Supreme Court. (Never mind that George W. Bush got NO credit for bringing the first Hispanic to the Attorney General's position in Alberto Gonzales.)

Whew. Now that that's done, we can move on to all the other minorities we need to get on the Supreme Court so we can achieve this great diversity that we MUST have. What will be next? A Native American? Or how about a homosexual or transgender? Oh wait, it has to be one of each. How stupid of me. Or maybe Asian or Canadian or Bulimic or HIV Positive or Jewish or Mandarin Chinese or a dwarf?

Picking someone on the basis of gender and race is SUPPOSED to be considered racist. Unless it's done by a Democrat. Then it's considered "fairness".

Speaking of "fairness', How about THIS gem of a quote from our soon-to-be Supreme Court Justice?

“I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life,” Sonia Sotomayor - 2001 Annual Judge Mario G. Olmos Law and Cultural Diversity Lecture at the University of California, Berkeley

Wow. If that isn't a racist statement, I'm not sure what racist is.

Amazing

The Republicans insisted the Democrats actually read a bill before they voted on it. So what did the Democrats do? They hired a SPEED READER to read it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_SB7g_Yb-0 for the video. I'm actually shocked at the arrogance of doing something like that. If the Republicans had done that, the media would have covered NOTHING else. It's all a big joke to them. That's what running our country has become.

A football question...

A question for all of you football fans out there: Imagine your favorite team just had a horrible season. A new coach gets hired and promises that he knows just what to do to turn the team around immediately. Draft time comes and the new coach insists that your team has to trade away it's first round picks for the next 10 years so they can aquire the people needed to win NOW.

The season comes along, and the team struggles mightily. They start off 0-4 and look like they're getting worse instead of better. Do you think the fan base would start to show some anger? Or at least some uneasiness at the direction the team is going?

Okay, now imagine instead of a coach doing all that, imagine it being done by the President of the United States.

Guantanamo

So Obama is insisting on closing Guantanamo. Despite the protests of the American People. Despite the protests of his Democratic cronies in Congress. He is stubbornly putting our country more at risk because he made a campaign pledge to the psychotic fringe of his party. Just today, authorities announced they had foiled a plot to blow up two New York synagogues and shoot down military planes. Three of those four men were recruited to Islam in PRISON. Exactly where Obama wants to send these dangerous terrorists. Can you think of a better recruiting ground? A captive audience dissillusioned and bitter with their lives. With nothing to lose. There is no way Guantanamo should be allowed to close. It shows Obama's ignorance of National Security to even suggest it.

Way to go California!!

I want to congratulate the citizens of California for voting down the irresponsible tax increases that were up for election last night. They said "NO" to an out-of-control government and it's about time. Unfortunately for them, it won't do them much good. I predict that the federal government is going to move to bail-out California because they are "too big to fail". So the citizens of California will still get a tax increase. It will just be on their Federal taxes like the rest of us.

Obama at Notre Dame

He brought up abortion. You must admit, the guy's got guts.

He tried to make it sound like he was resonable on the subject, too.

He said that people on both sides of the issue "can still agree that this is a heart-wrenching decision for any woman to make, with both moral and spiritual dimensions. So let's work together to reduce the number of women seeking abortions by reducing unintended pregnancies, and making adoption more available, and providing care and support for women who do carry their child to term."

Why is it heart-wrenching? Why is it an issue of morality? Why would we want to reduce the number of abortions? Abortion is a woman's right!

Wait... unless... maybe it's heart-wrenching because we're not entirely sure it's good. And if it's not good, then it must be evil. But, no, it can't be EVIL. We've always been told NOT having legalized abortion would be evil.

Now I'm confused. Obama and the left has always told us that abortion wasn't murder. That a child in the womb isn't really alive yet. If that's the case, why would there be any morality issues or "gut-wrenching"?

Because when it comes to life, there is no gray area. Life is either there or it is no longer there. Murder can either be good or evil, it can't be a little of both. Rape can either be good or evil, it can't be a little of both. Abortion can either be good or evil, it can't be a little of both.

Obama wants it both ways. He says we should work on reducing the number of abortions. Really? One of the first things he did when he got in office was repeal an executive order issued by Bush that prevents forcing taxpayers to fund international groups that perform or promote abortions in other countries. Now the American taxpayers are paying for abortions overseas. Excellent start on reducing the number of abortions.

How DARE he!!!

I'm steamed. Okay, I'll say it, pissed.

I don't know how many of you heard anything about Obama's town hall speech he did in New Mexico yesterday. I doubt many of you because the media is oddly enough not reporting much on it.

Here's a link to the transcript if you'd like to see for yourself. http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/washington/2009/05/barack-obama-townhall-new-mexico.html

This man actually had the nerve to say the following:

"But the long-term deficit and debt that we have accumulated is unsustainable. We can't keep on just borrowing from China, or borrowing from other countries -- (applause) -- because part of it is, we have to pay for -- we have to pay interest on that debt. And that means that we're mortgaging our children's future with more and more debt, but what's also true is that at some point they're just going to get tired of buying our debt. And when that happens, we will really have to raise interest rates to be able to borrow, and that will raise interest rates for everybody -- on your auto loan, on your mortgage, on -- so it will have a dampening effect on the economy."

I bolded certain parts of that for a reason. If you look at all the bolded parts you will notice one thing in common with them all.

THEY ARE ALL THINGS CONSERVATIVES HAVE BEEN SAYING FROM THE BEGINNING!!

THEY ARE ALL THINGS THE PEOPLE AT THE TEA PARTIES WERE DESPARATELY TRYING TO SAY!!!

If Obama believes those things, why did he SPEND US INTO SO MUCH DEBT IN THE FIRST PLACE???

In the transcript you will read that he claims the government had to spend all of that money because it needed to "step in and fill the hole in demand that was created by consumers and by businesses, to get the economy kick-started."

Well guess what, the economy hasn't been kick started. So what good did the spending do? NONE.

Why is Obama not being held accountable for the fact that he spent all that money and has NADA to show for it?

Because the media and all his devoted worshippers only hear the beautiful words coming out of his mouth, not the damage he's doing all around them.

It's the dishonest leading the ignorant.

The Problem with the Republican Party

Moderates are killing the Republican Party. We have too many members in our own party saying that we need to soften our "extreme right-wing positions" so that we can attract more voters. If we don't, there's no way we can win.

(I love how solid everyday Conservatism is referred to as extreme right wing by the media. If mainstream American values and ideals are extreme, then extreme be I!)

Ronald Reagan did not compromise any of his principles for the sake of votes. And he won both times. In landslides.

Ronald Reagan showed us how a Republican with Conservative values can win elections by huge margins. No offense to either Bush, but they weren't exactly solid-to-the-core Conservatives. Bush the elder ticked off Conservatives by going back on his "Read my lips... no new taxes" pledge and he was gone. Bush the younger ticked off Conservatives at the end of his administration by letting spending get out of control. Republicans are only successful when we stand firm on our Conservative principles and not try to "win votes". All we become when we pander is Democrat-light.

Steven Crowder

You have got to check this guy out. Hilarious. Go to the YouTube search box on bottom left of this page and type "Steven Crowder". I promise you won't be disappointed.

Colorblind??

So now the liberals want Obama to pick a Hispanic woman for the Supreme Court... you know, I find it interesting that the Democrats always claim to be for equality, and people to be colorblind... but then they are the first ones to put people in a box... to say this minority needs this, and that minority needs that... It's interesting that all Republicans are treated with the same hatred, regardless of color. Can you say Clarence Thomas and Alberto Gonzales? Regardless of gender... can you say Sarah Palin? Or even both... can you say Condy Rice? The Republican party was the party that was most instrumental in stopping slavery... the Democratic Party was against it. Yet over 90% of African Americans vote Democrat. Can someone please explain this to me?

Supreme Court Nominee

Obama and the Democrats have gone on record saying that any upcoming Supreme Court nominee should have "empathy" for ordinary people and they should have a "greater world experience and diversity". Now, please tell me if I'm wrong, but this has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with being a judge. The job of a Supreme Court Justice is to FOLLOW THE CONSTITUTION. It shouldn't matter who is standing before them and what their past life experiences were. What matters is the LAW. We have too many activist judges as it is. Lady Justice has a blindfold for a reason, and the Democrats want to rip it right off.

Global Warming

Let me get this straight... We can't get an accurate weather report of what's going to happen in a week, right? So we're supposed to believe that scientists can predict what is going to happen in our atmosphere generations down the road. Ah ok. These scientists tell us that global warming is man made. Caused by all us selfish Americans driving our cars, manufacturing our products, exhaling Carbon Dioxide... Well let's look at one simple fact... the warmest year on record was 1934. Yes, 1934, look it up. We've been spilling Carbon Dioxide and "Greenhouse gases" into the atmosphere for DECADES. If these things really do cause the earth to warm, then why isn't it even back to 1934 level? You know, 1934, when we DIDN'T RELEASE SO MUCH "GREENHOUSE GAS". So in the name of "protecting the planet" we're going to get MORE government regulations. Isn't that convenient for the BIG GOVERNMENT Democrats?

Class Warfare

It's very obvious that the Obama administration wants to make the rich the enemy. And it amazes me how many intelligent people get swept up in the attitude that if the rich get screwed, good! They need to know how it feels to suffer!

The wealthy used to be people to be admired. In the 40's and 50's they were idolized. Now that the wealthy are the enemy, where is the incentive to get rich? If getting rich makes you a target, is it really worth it?

One of the favorite liberal talking points if that we should raise taxes on the rich because "they can afford it". The top 1% of the wealthiest people in the country pay about 32% of income taxes. The top 20% pay about 78% of all income taxes.

What most liberals either fail or refuse to see is that many wealthy people employ a lot of non-wealthy people. If you punish the wealthy by taxing them more, they are going to make cuts to compensate. That hurts the little guy.

If anything, liberals should LOVE the rich. They have all of these social programs they want funding for and the wealthy are the primary contributors to those programs. But are they thanked in any way? Of course not. They're riduculed and hated. We should be trying to be more like them, not hoping they suffer.

Introducing Myself

Greetings, fellow inmates!

This being a brand new blog and my first ever post, I suppose I should try to introduce myself and explain my reason for starting this shrine to the insanity that is Conservatism.

I am a 35 year old married father of two who went about life the hard way. I got married young, had kids young, and put off going to college until I was 32. I recently graduated and got a great job that I really enjoy.

I came to love Conservatism on my own. I did not blindly follow along with what my parents believed. I believe that the Founding Fathers knew what they were doing when they formed our country. I think they fully understood the dangers of a government that grows too large. The dangers of a government that obtains too much power. They wanted a limited government for a reason. So that all people can have the same opportunities to succeed.

I believe that liberalism is extremely harmful to the economic success, military security, and social harmony of our country. You only need look at the current Obama Administration to see some of the harmful things liberals do.

Obama is using class envy to further his agenda. And the most interesting thing about it to me is the fact that he is not hiding it in any way, shape, or form. He claims to be for the common man, but the policies he puts forth are most harmful to the very people he claims to be trying to help.

Obama believes that goverment is the solution for everything. I believe that the American people are intelligent and compassionate enough that they can take care of their own problems. Goverment only gets in the way of American inginuity.

So anyway, enough rambling. I'll be putting my opinions and thoughts on here daily about what is going on in the world or about what is going on in my chaotic little mind. Feel free to stop by whenever you like and comment whenever you feel the need. I just ask, please keep it clean and civil. If you don't, it won't get posted.

Hope to hear from all of you soon! Keep the torch of freedom burning!
