Dishonesty

It’s blatant dishonesty coming from the President of the United States. He’s going out there calling for a government-run insurance option as part of his plan to remake our country’s health care system. He says having a government option is necessary to keep private insurance companies “honest and keep prices down.”

Does he really think we’re all that stupid?

Obama is going to force companies to offer health insurance to their workforce. What company with a brain is going to pay for something that they can get for free? Private insurance will disappear and everyone will have only the government to care for them.

Is that really what we want? Do we want some faceless bureaucrat hundreds of miles away that knows absolutely nothing about us deciding what treatment is economically feasible? Do we want to wait in cramped doctors’ offices for hours at a time so that we can meet with pleasant government employees such as the kind that work at the friendly Department of Motor Vehicles and the loverly post office?

For the President to go out there and claim that he wants a government-run option to create competition is just dishonest. He knows full well that would be the demise of the private option and the almighty government would be all that would be left standing.

Oh yeah, and he spent all the money. How are we going to pay for this?
