The silent majority

I’m like you. I see the news every day and wonder if the country has finally gone mad. I hear people around me talking and I wonder why they are so blind to the things going on around them. I see the 24 hour coverage on the death of a pedophile and wonder why we’re not covering more of the deaths of our soldiers. I know in my heart the destructive nature of liberalism, but fail to get others to see beyond the pretty words and wonderful promises and understand that everything has consequences.

I know that liberalism has been permeating our culture through Hollywood and the national media. I know that it has also been infecting the hearts and minds of our youth in public schools and Ivy League universities. I know that it seems that the country is populated with those that watch MTV, Comedy Central, and Saturday Night Live for their news.

And like you, many times when I see these things, hear these things, and feel these things, I lose hope.

Like you, I don’t want to lose hope. I want to feel like our country still has those core values that made it so great in the past. I want some kind of proof that we really are good, decent people deep inside that will rise up when needed and stand for what is right.

Well allow me to try to make the case that, yes, we are still a nation of patriots with strong values in the fabric of our souls.

We all remember the overwhelming sense of patriotism after September 11th, 2001. We all remember the flags flying and the common agreement throughout the nation that the United States of America was the greatest country on the planet and nothing could ever change that. That was our true core. That was the silent majority rising up to be heard. Because it was necessary.

After that, the louder voices of the left began to get everyone’s attention again. The media continued their assault on Conservative values. The silent majority was lulled back to sleep.

The silent majority woke again on June 5th, 2004. The death of the greatest Conservative voice of our generation woke the silent majority out of its slumber and an enormous outpouring of affection was a result. People lined the streets to show their respect for Ronald Reagan. Flags flew at half mast throughout the nation. The silent majority knew that a great visionary and leader had passed and would be sorely missed. They wanted to let the world know that they would not allow his vision to die. The silent majority mourned, and once again, went back to sleep.

We have been seeing the silent majority turning fitfully in its siesta, as of late. We see signs that it is once again beginning to awaken. We see the high turnout at the tea parties. We notice the higher ratings of Conservative radio and television in comparison to their liberal counterparts. We see books written by Conservatives being ranked number one in sales by the New York Times. We see the sleeping giant beginning to stir.

Obama and the liberals should fear the awakening, but naturally their conceit won’t allow it. They feel that they control the majority. They feel that the voices rising up are too few. The think the fringe left that follows them so blindly IS the majority of the country. But the TRUE silent majority is being pushed too far and it will awaken. It will not allow the Obamas of the world to destroy the very soul of our country.

The silent majority will awaken. Because it is necessary.

I pity those that stand in its way.

  1. There is no awakening. Americans are stupid. They only cheer and support the side they are on against the other for no reason that makes sense. They drag there feet when the other side tries to make positive progress and blindly support their side even when it is dead wrong.

Americans support the pedophiles in the Catholic Church, the spending of the Bush administration and all of the crimes of their favorite politicians. Those pedophiles are supported and even hidden to avoid prosecution. How sad is that.

All Americans seem to do is hate. We only respond to what we hate about the other side and never work for what is right for the country if the other side thought of it first. Our politicians will not support anything unless their side get credit for it. That should be a crime. The only thing we all agree on is killing and war. We will spend our last dime for that. There is no hope only the end.

  2. Andy:
My feelings exactly. As I have said, "it's like a great beast that is rising from slumber and it's hungry". It will feed on the policies of this administration.

  3. It seems that the first comment is from one who has been beaten down by life and his own government to become a listless, negative, whining drone...welcome to your future America. Is this what we want to become? A nation of completley disillusioned, angry people who point their fingers at EVERYONE and ANYONE else because to fight for your own beliefs has become to painful a battle? Its as if the Matrix has come to pass and so many are buying into it, submitting without a fight, just like our friend, Tony W.

Tony: We are not the nation that you speak of above, that is only one side of us. I find it sad that you buy into the mainstream, leftist media of the world. It occurs to me that in the 60's a great movement began, a movement demanding to 'know the truth'. Now, in the new millenia, we are on a similar crusade. How ironic that those who began the cause so long ago have now become the corrupt leaders of this once great nation. Leaders who would have truth and justice shackled and liberty and freedom banished for all time.

There are those of us out there that do not support any of the above which you listed as 'American' beliefs. There are those of us willing and able to fight against those perpetuating the kind of thought processes that you listed above, this blog, my husband's blog, is one such source. He is a voice of reason and sanity around us here in time that has become as dangerous as it has deceitful.

WE do not follow blindly, WE are not lemmings.

    WE are not stupid.

WE do not support pedophiles in the Catholic church...that's the Vatican's arena and its THIER job to clean up the corruption in that church.

You want to talk about 'favorite politicians' and the crimes they commit? Take a good look at the Obama administration. No really, LOOK, dig, find the truth, break away from the left media and find some sources that are not from the 'State Run' media.

And there is much more to America than just a bunch of hate mongers. Hate is a strong word, and equally strong emotion. It takes up too much time and too much energy. Many Americans, such as myself, have much better things to do then spend our days hating the world.

So wake up Tony W, because it seems that you are in the grips of the Matrix...find the truth, it is out there, staring you in the face, just waiting to be discovered.
